The "camp" was a sprawling lodge overlooking the Guadalupe. Our guide showed up about an hour before lights out to discuss the next days adventure, which i thought was great so that we knew him before we launched. Guides name is Chris Johnson who lives to tie flies and fly fish. Chris knew his stuff , the water was very skinny and the drift was tough at best. I will use your services in the future without hesitation. I am originally from Texas, but fish in Western New York about 40 days a year.

Respectfully.
Russ Luke
Brownsville NY

Hello Mr. Bill Higdon

I'm submitting to you this recommendation for the grand fly fishing trip, that Carol and I made to your "In the Hills Fishing Excursions/Guadalupe Lodge." I personally have been fly fishing not only for trout but many other species in fresh water. My 15 or so years of fly fishing however, was climaxed with something I've needed for years. That's a trip with a fly fishing guide. My day long trip with guide Mr. Client Jackson, was the high water mark for my need for professional training.

Clint's many years as a fly fisherman, fly tier and as a professional guide is very deeply appreciated. This first trip with a professional guide will not be the only fly fishing trip, I make with the "In the Hills Fishing Excursions/Guadalupe Lodge." The professional instruction and detailed information from both Mr. Jackson, as well yourself, has filled in the much needed information and training I've lacked for many trips fly fishing. I've read many stories from several authors that are professional themselves. However, in many publications where well written articles are not enough to explain the complete needs a fly fisherman must have.

These sometimes small adjustments from the way I have been presenting my flies, the color change for flies even though the same fly, the major need to know when to present the fly up-stream or right at the trout. My reading the actions that many professional fly fishing guides, fly tyre's, and presentation casters is certainly worth the price of the publications. Nothing can come pair to the one-on-one training, assistance, and well addressed suggestions from a fly fishing professional guide. I've never through how much difference the weight of one fly line compares to another would make.

Clint, had me switch from my personal rod and fly line to his own rod and weight line. I could feel the difference at once with the two rods, reels, and weight lines used side-by-side. This is must for every training fly fisherman, to be able to enjoy the complete difference. This is but one instruction a professional guide can and will make. Mr. Higdon, with the information, knowledge, skill training and powerful assistance from a professional guide, is well worth the cost for this days training course. Yes, catching trout or other fish is a true plus for any fishing the trip. However, the cost will seem very small compared to the one-on-one training and in-depth assistance, from you or one of many professional guides.

Carol and I will be back, to enjoy your kindness of our nights lodging in your Lodge, but most importantly though the picking of your most knowledgeable brain for more assistance and training. Carol and I send our greatest respect and friendship to you and Gus. The trip would have been an incomplete enjoyable trip for Carol had Gus not been present. We both love Labrador 's, as we owned two at one time.

One last thing please. This is for all individuals just learning or have been fly fishing for years as I have. Everyone wanting to become much better fly fishermen as well as other types of fish, if you haven't paid the cost for hiring a professional guide to both train and increase your working knowledge about fly rods, fly reels, fly lines weight, leaders, tippets and the crowing factor the types of flies to use and when, then you are as I was. Casting every fly you own and catching only a sore arm. Please, hire yourself a professional in the area you desire to catch fish on your fly rod, reel, correctly weighted line and the fly for the body of water your fishing, alone with what the fish are feeding on.

Sincerely,
J D Brown, txredneck
